Little Fun Fest 2014

Date: Sunday 6th April
Time: 8.15am
Destination: Little Fun Fest, Red House Farm, Altrincham

Our journey began at 8.15am, I say we were running ahead of schedule my wife on the other hand saying we're running late.

Either way we got the kids in the car, made sure we'd got everything we needed and began our journey up to Red House Farm for our fun filled day at Little Fun Fest.

We hadn't been on our journey for more than 10 minutes when my youngest lad start, " daddy are we there yet?" "Daddy how much further?" "Daddy......" I interrupted him at this point with "no son, we're not there yet, there's a long way to go, we've only just got on the motorway, anything else you wanna know?" To this my eldest son replied " are we there yet dad?" I gave up and just carried on driving leaving my defenceless wife to answer the barrage of questions which followed.

We reached our destination, without any wrong turns or getting lost may I add, at about 10am. We we're greeted at the entrance of a rather large field by a young lady with a rather lovely warm smile (to say how windy and cold it was) who pointed to a spot where we needed to park.

Park, I looked at the field and thought this is going to be fun. How correct was I. Shall we just say whilst all the Range Rovers and 4x4's were parking with ease I was being pushed, yes pushed into the correct parking spot.

Well we all suited and booted into our wellies and waterproof coats and made our way across a very muddy field to start our day of mass fun at Little Fun Fest.

Once we had looked at the days schedule to see what was on and where, we planned our day so that the kids didn't miss out on anything.

Meaning we had arrived so early and rides and stalls were still being set up we let the kids play in the sand pit and on the childrens play area.

The first show we watched was the opening show in the big top. A character called Derek ( Alex Winters ) and a character called The Mad Hatter ( Jem Frazer ) headline this show.

The kids loved it, they know Alex from cbeebies and are used to him dressing up so when he appeared as Derek the kids found this very funny and enjoyable to watch.

Once the show was over we took the kids on the fairground rides. As these were free to go on all day long, it was a great little bonus to be able to say at any point of the day "come on kids who wants to go on the fair?".

There were many rides for them to go on including the merry-go-round, pirate ship, go karts and bouncing castles. If the kids had their way they would of stayed on them all day long lol.

Whilst on the fairground rides we bumped into the lovely Eliza and her lovely family and our children and their two boys went on the rides together.

We then took the kids to the barn to watch Phil Fletchers puppet show, the kids enjoyed watching the show and to be honest the adult jokes in the sketch were funny too.

Straight after this we stayed in the barn so the kids could watch story time with Cat (from that Cbeebies show).

Again the boys loved this as they were able to sit and listen to two stories being read to them and join in with the fun of story time.

Next show we watched was Jake and the Pirates sing along, this was lead by Alex (from that Cbeebies show too). Along with Jake from the Neverland Pirates they sang songs and had lots of dancing fun with all the boys and girls in the audience.

Our next port of call was the big top for the Mad Hatters Tea Party.

Here Cat and The Mad Hatter entertained the kids with songs and games they were joined on stage by Dene Michael ( that bloke from Agadoo ) to sing a selection of his party song, which yes I'll admit to I joined in with lol.

We stayed in the tent and watched Dr Ranj in his traveling surgery show. The boys loved this as they love watching Dr Ranj on Cbeebies.

After this we were lucky enough to go to a special meet and greet back stage.

The children got to spend some time with Cat, Dr Ranj, various Disney characters and of cause non other then Alex Winters himself.

Once we had finished the meet and greet we made our way for the final time to the big top tent for the
dance off

 gunge tank time

 and song time finally.

Once again we had a wonderful fun filled day at little fun fest and I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about going next time round.

Not only will the kids have hours of fun but you will too, seeing their faces light up when they dance and sing along with all the days entertainers is well worth the journey to

Little Fun Fest.
