So Whats Life All About?

You're born, you die thats the start and ending basically but what you do in between is the important stuff, the stuff that defines you, the stuff that you can have an impact on and that can have an impact on others, time allowing of course.

Unfortunately some don't get enough time to make any kind of real impact in anyones life and on the other hand some have far more time to make a impact then they should.

A good friend of ours lost their little angel at the tender age of just six months old and although she didn't get to make a lifetime of impact on her friends and family she did make a very special impact within the short space of time she was with us.

Even more closer to home my cousin recently gave birth to her twin baby boys two and a half months early and unfortunately one of them died within 24 hours of being born, again although he was only with us for less than 24 hours he made a impact on his parents and grandparents heart they will never forget.

Life is far too precious to let it pass you by, you've got to enjoy every minute to its fullest, you need to be able to look back when you are old and be able to say " I'm glad I did that, I'm glad I tried that out, ok it didn't work out quite as planned but at least I tried" instead of looking back with regret on not trying, not achieving your goals, not travelling or whatever it maybe you did or didn't do.

As they say 'You Only Live Once' or in todays street talk I think its YOLO,
go out overcome those fears explore the world or at least the country you live in.
Have stories to tell the kids and the grandkids and possibly even the great grandkids
or at least the residents of the retirement home you probably end up in lol.

"When I were a lad.....  "Shut up Craig we've heard it all before" lol

As I said, some unfortunately don't get the chance to live their lives to the full through no fault of their own, if you know of someone like this a fiend and family member maybe, cherish the memories you have of them no matter how short their life was lived.

Do something outrageously crazy and ever lasting in their memory.
Something you may not of ever thought of doing before like a
sky dive, a mountain climb or visit somewhere special to them or their close family members maybe.

I'll end this post on a personal note.

When I was about 10 my grandfather passed away, one thing he regretted not being able to do was to take me and my brother on holiday due to his ill health, so in honour of my grandfather my father organised a family holiday to Malta because thats where my grandfather wished to take us.
It was and still is the best family holiday we have ever had.
I still think back to it sometimes and remember fun memory snippets of a holiday that we went on over 20 years ago.

Do you have a holiday, special place or something you do or have done to remember a loved one or a special person you have lost?

Whilst Mummy Was At BritMums Live 2014

My wife Me_andthe_tiny3 like many other fellow women bloggers and (the few men that might of been there) packed their suitcase(s) and headed off to BritMums live 2014 whilst their OHs stayed at home and either worked or like me had mass fun with the kids or maybe possibly did both.

Well I had booked the whole weekend off as my wife and Cathie Boyle were booked into their hotel room for two nights and due back at some point on Sunday.

Well on Friday we dropped JR off at school and made our way to the train station to see mummy off for her jolly weekend away or as the boys said "mummies working weekend away".

It was slightly emotional and me and my wife were nervous for each other. She had never been away by herself before let alone roomed with anyone and I had never been by myself with the kids for over 48 hours or whatever it was going to become.

Well we said our goodbyes, made sure she boarded her train and off we went on our little weekend adventure unsure what we were going to do or who we were going to see to be honest.

1st port of call was to go visit my Nan before she went off on holiday and to see my parents before they head off back home to Benidorm.

We timed the arrival quite well I must say as we walked through the front door my dad offered me some breakfast how could I say no to that lol.

The kids love seeing Great Nana as she always treats them to sweets but always gives them fruit to take home too. TP was a star on this visit he helped Grandpa make lunch and helped Nana peg out the washing. L-A spent most of the time chasing Grandpa round or sitting showing Great Nana what she wanted out of the Argos book.

Well we spent somewhat over four hours at Great Nana's by which time it was time to go fetch JR from after school club, so we wished Great Nana a safe journey for her holiday and wished Nana and Grandpa a safe journey home.

We picked JR up from after school club went to Asda to get some salad stuff for tea and then went home had tea and put the kids to bed, then I chilled to prepare for what Saturday had in store.

Well Saturday arrived with a 5.20 wake up call courtesy of L-A which in turn woke the boys, not the start I was hoping for being by myself but hey ho.

Well we got up had breakfast and got JR ready for dance class. I took the youngest two to Grandma's and took JR to dance, I left him in his class and took a wee little break in the car to recharge my batteries and nearly sleep through the end of his class. When I want to collect him I was greeted by my son standing there in his dance costume holding a cup he had won for this weeks best performer
*very proud daddy moment followed*.

We then went to a world cup sticker swop session at Toys R Us, the boys got to do some colouring in and get some much needed stickers to help towards completing their book.

The rest of the day was spent at Grandma's and Grandad's house where the kids played in the garden and helped Grandad do some gardening we also had a lovely BBQ with giant burgers and sausages, which we all really enjoyed.

We also had daft play time where I pushed the kids round the garden on there bikes and even sat JR in the shed roof for the fun of it.

It was almost bed time but before so I had to give the kids a bath as they were filthy from playing in the garden.
I was a little nervous as this was the first time I had bathed all three by myself.
Thankful I pulled it off with no major issues a few tears as L-A is still getting used to water but a success never the less.

Well I got the kids in bed and kicked back and watched the football then went to bed myself.

Sunday became a chill day we got up had breakfast watched television, I filled up the paddling pool so they could play in it whilst I did the housework.

As the weather was lovely they played out for ages and I was able to do lots of washing and was able to hang it all out to dry in the lovely sunshine.

We were still waiting for me_and the_tiny3 to return from her weekend away and as a little 'we missed you mummy' we made mummy a welcome home cake.

Well that was my  BritMums live 2014 weekend, if you went hope you had mass fun and learnt loads if you didn't go hope you had an equally fun weekend.

I am linking this post up with the lovely Charly Dove and her wonder Alphabet Project.

This week I've gone for F Is For ..... Food.

I must admit that throughout my life food has played a big part,
Soup when u feel down and low on cold wet winter days,
Chocolate when you want that little pick up every now and then
and pizza when you can't be bothered to cook lol.

We all have our favourite foods what's yours?

Well last week my wife was was invited to attend the Good Food Show at the NEC, so as I was off that day I attended too.

Oh the fun we had trying all the different types of free samples of various foods and drinks.

Well that's my F Is For ......

E Is For ..... Excitement/Enjoyment

I am linking this post up with the lovely Charly Dove and her fabulous Alphabet Project.

This week I thought about doing E Is For .... England as the World Cup is about to start
but I decided against it and instead I chose:-

E Is For ....... Excitement/Enjoyment.

There are many pictures of different occasions over the years that show excitement/enjoyment in photo album but I thought I'd choose this one of my wife with a Lotus F1 car at Silverstone a few years ago.

As a huge F1 fan she was so excited to be going to the home of the British Grand Prix and when she was given the opportunity to get up close and personal to this Lotus car well she nearly weed with excitement lol (soz darling).

As you can see we were also able to get up close to the winners podium stand which was quite cool too.

Well that's my E Is For.....

Stayed tuned for my F Is For.....

Day Out At Alton Towers

We took the family out to Alton Towers thanks to Sun Perks on Tuesday.

We had so much fun from the off, we even went a different way to our normal turn off on the motorway which was good it because it took us a different way and we saw some different sights lol.

The excitement was becoming to much for the boys the closer we got to the park entrance especially as the boys knew that on this visit we'd be taking them to the new Cbeebies Land.

Well as we'd already got tickets we whizzed past the queues at the ticket booths and got straight into the park.

We made our way straight to the Cbeebies Land and the boys were about to decide what they wanted to try 1st when mummy said "can I go on The Smiler 1st as the queue will be smaller and we can do Cbeebies Land for the rest of the day".

Upon hearing this I was waiting for the tantrums to begin but it wasn't to be as my wife was already leading the boys away in the direction of The Smiler with no time allowed to tantrum or moan.

Well we parked up outside the ride which the OH was due to go on the ride, as the queue time was 30 minutes I said I'd take kids back to Cbeebies Land whilst OH was on ride. OH said she'd catch us up so we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways.

The kids and I walked round Cbeebies Land to see what was there to go on ready for mummy to catch us up.

About 20 mins in I got a phone call "fire alarms gone off I'm gonna be a bit longer then expected" my OH said, "OK, catch us up when u can" I replied.

Well about another 20 mins went by and I got another call "where are u I'm FINALLY off that bloody ride" well we meet up and it appears she'd been to customer services and complained about the poor customer service on The Smiler and got rewarded a fastpass for her troubles.

Well we finally met back up together and told mummy that:-

We'd met Tree Fu Tom,

Had a picture took with Upsy Daisey,

Played skittles and bean bag archery in Big Fun Show Time area

and best of all we watched Nina and the Neurons show and JR got picked to participate in it too.

After this we went on the sky ride over to where Ice Age the 4D experience is.

We all went in this attraction, the boys had mixed responses to it to be honest they loved some of it and were scared by some of it too, L-A wasn't to sure what to make of it at all to be honest.

The OH then took the kids on the carousel and the frog hopper then we let JR try his hand at Drive School, to be honest I wasn't too sure about him on it at first as he can't walk in a straight line let alone drive a car in one lol but give him his due he was very good and followed all the rules very clearly *proud daddy face I did have lol*.

We then returned to Cbeebies Land where we (well I in the end) took the kids on the Postman Pat Parcel Post ride and the boys in Justin's House Pie-O-Matic factory and mummy took their boys on the Numtums Number Go Round and in Charlie & Lola's Moonsquirters & Green Drops and we took them all to see the Mike the Knight show and afterwards get their picture took with him and Evie which they loved doing.

As the day was drawing to a close we tried to get on as many rides as we could now we (as in mummy and the boys could) as L-A was fast asleep. Mummy took them on the runaway mine train, the pirate ship, we all went on duel the haunted house strikes back, mummy took JR on enterprise and eventually took herself on Rita, Nemesis, Air and of course The Smiler so she was extremely happy.

Well it was time to go the park was closing for another day, all in all it had been a great day out we'd all been on various rides for various ages lol and had mass amounts of fun and we can't wait to go back later in the year.
